Thank you to everyone attending the AGM last night. Is was a nice smooth meeting!

Firstly and most importantly – we are pleased to announce that £320 was raised for Dorothy House (Link to Dan’s page) at finals night last week! This was via the raffle and a number of players donating their winnings. We have also had several other direct donations and so, coupled with the charity money we already had, we will be paying over £600 to Dan’s page! This will paid in under Mark’s name so that we can get Gift Aid on the sum. I’m sure you will agree its an amazing total and we’d like to thank everyone again!

A number of other items were discussed and decided upon. The results are as follows:

1) Election of committee – The committee (Allan, Mark and Matt) were re-elected. Jon rejoined as full secretary after two seasons as unofficial secretary
2)Fees – Mark felt the league fees were fine and so no changes were made. Currently £80 + £5 charity donation + any singles and pairs @£2 and £4
3)’Most 180s’ prize for D2 – As both divisions have a “High Check” award it was decided to bring the 180s award in line and have one for division two.
4)Singles to be decided by captains not drawn from hat – this was rejected
5)Annual ‘open’ ladies competition – In an effort to generate more interest, the league will now hold and annual Ladies singles competition instead of seasonal competitions. This will be played on the same night as the ‘Overs & Unders’ and will be open to any lady having played the The Courage League in the last calendar year. This will begin next year.
6)One up/one down promotion and relegation for any size division – In a change to the current rule, there will now be only one guaranteed promotion/relegation. Second place now will always be a play-off with second from bottom of D1. This is for any size divisions.
7)Divisional Singles – This will take place on the 28th September. D1 will be at Purnells and D2 at The Railway.
8)Danny’s funeral – There was a reminder of the details of Danny’s Funeral. 14th September, 3pm, Mendip Crematorium. Darts shirts/smart casual welcome.

Any other business:

An item relating to the Summer Season was brought up and will be addressed in due course.
There was a reminder that the ‘Overs & Unders’ has been been moved to the 21st September. We are awaiting confirmation from Mardons that they can still hold the event.

League structure:

We will have 14 teams playing this winter and, due to some teams dropping out and some coming in, the structure will be:

D1: Coleford Legion, Westhill, Riverside, Waldegrave A, Norton SC, Railway, Paulton Rovers
D2: Mardons A, Mardons B, Tyning, Crown & Out’s, Red Lion, Purnells, Waldegrave B

Fixtures will be arranged soon and will go out to all venues (with cards and rules) asap. They will also be available to download soon.

We hope everyone has a great season!
